A CMRDI research team from multidisciplinary fields made a filed visit to the Ain Sukhna industrial zone and visited power stations including Ain Sukhna and Ataka stations, both of them belongs to the East Delta Electricity Production Company. The research team included Prof. Khaled Ibrahim, Prof. Shaima Al-Haddad, Eng. Mustafa Shehata from the foundry department, Prof. Khaled Hafez from the welding department, Prof. Ibrahim Ghayad from the Metals Technology Division and Prof. Osama Fouad from the Advanced Materials Division.The visit included a presentation of the services of the foundry technology department and the welding technology department with the aim of manufacturing spare parts for the electricity sector as an alternative to the importer ones, as well as repair and maintenance operations using welding technology. In the presence of Eng. Ashraf Shebaa, Head of Sectors at East Delta Electricity Production Company, Eng. Ashraf Youssef, Head of the Ain Sukhna Power Station Sector, and a number of station engineers, it was agreed to take to manufacture a number of cathodic protection anodes for the company's Oyoun Moussa and Damietta stations. The research team also visited El-Sewedy Cement Company (ESCC) in Al-Sukhna zone and Prof. Khaled Ibrahim gave a presentation on the capabilities of foundry pilot plant at CMRDI to manufacture spare parts for the cement sector. The engineers at ESCC were impressed with the capabilities of the center, which qualifies them to request some spare parts for cement mill in the future..
