A research  groups from CMRDI attained  a workshop entitled “Capacity Building Workshop for Universities and Research Centers Strategic Planning and Industry Cooperation” which held in Ministry of Scientific Research from 19-21 April 2011 in presence of expertise from Fraunhofer  institute. This workshop is a second part from a protocol between RDI and Fraunhofer institute. The first part of the protocol was a questionnaire sent to all research institutes and universities to collect information about the facilities and projects in all of them. As a result of the collected information  both CMRDI and National Research Centers were selected to perform the third part from the protocol to apply a software computer program to develop a strategic planning steps for scientific research centers.
The workshop involves introduction to strategic planning for universities and research centers, steps of the strategy planning process, strategy documentation and implementation, patent strategy,  case study for strategic plan in Franuhofer Institute, and also presents a software computer program for developing strategic planning steps in research centers.
The third part which involves the application of software program for strategic planning steps was implemented during  6 to 7 July 2011 between CMRDI groups and Fraunhofer Institute expertise.
