Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim (Dec. 2010 - present)

Prof. of Chemical processing of minerals and materials, Former Vice President and Head of Advanced Materials Department., contributed in 40 industry-oriented projects, published 110 papers, supervised 25 M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses, shared in numerous international conferences, involved in strengthening international cooperation  through joint projects, established chemical processing pilot plants, got special training in project management in Japan and Bahrain and organization management in Malaysia.

Prof. M. I. Nasr (2005 - 2010)

He had the Ph.D. Chemical Engineering, Cairo University in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, USA, 1985.
He is a member in many Scientific and Professional Societies, and was awarded many national and international Prizes.
He launched CMRDI new strategic plan 2007-2012 which is well adopted to the latest scientific, technological and economic changes locally and worldwide.
Prof. Nasr was elected as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) representative in the World Association of Industrial and Technological Organizations WAITRO for two terms up to 2010.

Prof. Bahaa Zaghloul (2002 - 2005)

He has guided CMRDI from 2002 to Feb. 2005.
Prof. Zaghloul has restructured CMRDI departments and labs and introduced new departments for advanced materials and advanced manufacturing technologies that include new research labs for the rapid prototyping and manufacturing technology, powder metallurgy and nano-materials technology.

Prof. A. A. Nofal (1996 - 2002)

A worldwide known expert in the field of foundry technology who greatly contributed to the development of foundry technology in Egypt. A distinct example is the production of special types of cast iron rolls for steel mills, one of the remarkable achievement of CMRDI.
Prof. Nofal has done tremendous efforts to modernize the infrastructure and facilities of CMRDI and brought it to an outstanding level capable to compete with leading R&D institutes worldwide.

Prof. A. A. Youssef (1990 - 1996)

The pursuit of excellence performance was supported by Prof. Aziza Youssef who established ore beneficiation science and technology, not only in Egypt but also on a regional level.
CMRDI is honored that she is member of Shura Council.

 

 

Prof. Adel Abdel Azim

Prof. A. A. Azim (1974 - 1990)

The first Chairman of the institute, who put CMRDI on the right track as the first industry-oriented research institute in Egypt, through the adoption of project system. He succeeded to establish bridges with well-reputed research institutes all over the world.

The one who managed to establish CMRDI through a project with UNIDO.
