The Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI), Cairo, Egypt aims to establish a Research-Industry Interaction Unit and Liaison Office (ILO) to enhance cooperation between the research and industry communication. The project has the following results:

·         Strengthening the links between CMRDI and the industrial sector

·         Providing training on technology transfer, marketing methodologies

            and intellectual property rights.

·         Commercializing technologies developed among private sector

             especially SME’s.

·         Implementing newly developed technologies to be implemented by

           the industrial sector.

·         Match-making between industrial needs and R&D capabilities to

           identify suitable solutions.

·         Increasing the awareness of industry about the importance of innovative

          research.
