9-13 November 2010, Luxor, Egypt

Symposium Venue

As the number of participants (judged by the number of abstract) exceeded the expected before the Organizing Committee had to change the Symposium Venue to another hotel with larger capacity of the conference room.

The Symposium will be held in the Steigenberger Nile Palace Hotel (www. luxor.steigenberger.com) which lies in the heart of the historical city of Luxor, just 1.5 km from the magnificent Luxor temple complex. Participants will be able to enjoy this attractive location on the banks of the Nile from their rooms, with the fabulous views out over the river and the special flair of this unique city.

Luxor is the number one choice for those wishing to experience firsthand the culture and history of Ancient Egypt. Known as the “City of Palaces”, no other place can lay claim to the many magnificent testaments to the thousands of years during which the pharaohs ruled. Amongst the renowned archeological and cultural sites on the eastern bank of the Nile are the temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor, whereas the Western bank embraces the Valley of the Kings the Valley of the Queens, the Tombs of the Nobles, and the Marvelous Temple of Hatshipsut.

The Symposium organizers promise a program that is well balanced between the scientific and cultural sides. You may get the message that any technological development we enjoy nowadays can not be understood in isolation of the wonderful civilization, once flourished on their land several thousands years ago.
